Telangana’s IT Minister K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) inaugurated the FoundersLab, a student-led startup accelerator, on July 20, 2023. The accelerator is a joint initiative of the Telangana government and the National Academy of Entrepreneurship (NAE).
The FoundersLab will provide students with the opportunity to learn about entrepreneurship, develop their business ideas, and get mentorship from experienced entrepreneurs. The accelerator will also provide students with access to funding and other resources.
“The FoundersLab is a great initiative that will help to nurture the next generation of entrepreneurs in Telangana,” said KTR. “I am confident that the accelerator will help to create a vibrant startup ecosystem in the state.”
The FoundersLab will be open to students from all universities in Telangana. The selection process for the accelerator will be based on a student’s business idea, their passion for entrepreneurship, and their commitment to learning.
The inaugural batch of the FoundersLab will include 20 students. The students will be divided into teams of four and will work on developing their business ideas over a period of six months. The teams will receive mentorship from experienced entrepreneurs and will have access to funding and other resources.
The FoundersLab is a significant step towards the Telangana government’s goal of making the state a hub for innovation and entrepreneurship. The accelerator will help to create a pipeline of talented entrepreneurs who will contribute to the growth of the state’s economy.
“The FoundersLab is a great opportunity for students to learn about entrepreneurship and to develop their business ideas,” said NAE CEO Dr. C.V. Rao. “I am confident that the accelerator will help to create a vibrant startup ecosystem in Telangana.”
